“No felines were harmed in the restoration of this clock…”
This Oak Longcase clock was made by John Ginnes of Greenbrae, Scotland, during the mid-19th C.
The eight-day movement has been stripped and completely refurbished, received a comprehensive oil service and the hourly-chime has been adjusted.
The Pastorally decorated mint-green dial features the Hours, Minutes, a Sub-Seconds dial and displays the Month too and all four hands are original.
This project has been a sympathetic restoration. We have gently cleaned, waxed and polished the case, preserving the dial in original, un-restored (but lightly cleaned) condition.
New ‘cat gut’ (not real cat!) has been installed to bear the two original weights and a period winding handle provided.
This Longcase Clock is available to view at our showroom – please call to book a slot.
Shop for over two weeks under review and is keeping time accurately.
All timepieces, striking clocks and chiming clocks come with a five year warrantee.
Delivery or collection within the UK can be arranged, please call us to tie down the necessaries.
Unfortunately we cannot ship this clock overseas.
