Key-Wound, midsize: superb!
Description
“Painted like Nero’s crown” – C.B
A superb and sizeable silver watch from the late Victorian period and signed by one of the most famous jewellery retains of them all.
C.1890 with a H. Samuel branded cylinder movement, most likely French in origin.
A crisp and attractive enamel dial sporting laurel leaves, rather like Nero’s crown, and a pink blushed Roman-style numerated chapter ring, over which sweep a pair of unusually decorative hands as well as a sub seconds dial at 6 o’clock.
The 42mm continental silver (935) case is highly decorative and has been lightly and sympathetically finished.
The watch has been thoroughly service, comprehensively oiled and time kept for a fortnight in our workshop.
It is a key-wind, key-set watch – one will be provided with your order.
All timepieces are Warranted for 5 years.
